The Sandwich Fair as always was very enjoyable. Most members arrived
on Wednesday but a number of us arrived on Thursday and Friday.
Members present were the Addems’, Ellsworth’s, Flynn’s, Morris’, Benhart’s,
Schlie’s, Purcell’s, Willie’s, Olsen’s, Vitte’s, Harden’s, Koehne’s, Kriz’s,
Leeder’s, Long’s, Semitekol’s, Thornton’s, Zigler’s, Koeppel’s, Don Russell,
and Holecek’s. A number of members had family and friends visit.
Also, Benhart’s had a new grandson born on Saturday, September 8th.
Their first grandson after four granddaughters.
After the Sandwich Fair the Kriz’s, Koehne’s, Holecek’s, Schlie’s, Vitte’s,
Willie’s, Long’s, Zeigler’s, Thornton’s and Addems’ headed for the Midwest
Area Rally in Manchester, Iowa. Since the rally did not start until
Tuesday afternoon we stayed Sunday and Monday nights at either Zeigler’s or
Vitte’s home. All are thankful for their hospitality.
We arrived at the MAC rally Tuesday afternoon. Most of us made a side
trip to the Field of Dreams and a Catholic Basilica which was in the next
town. The MAC Rally had about 400 coaches in attendance. About 6
dealers brought in about 25 new for sale motor homes. There were a
number of vendors including John Ellsworth’s employer Inland Power Group.
John helped manage the vendor table and the seminars for Inland an
authorized distributor of Allison Transmissions etc. We had a very
good time.
See you in October at Tom’s Campground in Wisconsin. Don’t forget the
White Elephant sale.
