The
Sandwich Fair outing was attended by 17 coaches,
The Hardens, Holeceks, Thorntons, Ziglers, Olsens, Vittes,
Longs, Koehnes, Schlies, Krizs, Purcells, Ellsworths, Nilssons,
Morris & Russell.
Benharts drove over from their home in Yorkville every day.
Lou is still hampered by his broken leg.
Leeders stopped by on Saturday for the meeting.
Monte Barksdale and Ray and Marge Nehmzow attended their
second campout and therefore were given an application to join
the Chariots. They are
our newest members.
As usual most of the attendees went into the fair and had a
great time. A number of members including the writer had a pork
chop dinner on Thursday evening at Fay’s.
We also checked out the cream puffs and ice cream stands.
We again utilized our 20X30 canopy on a campsite that the
fair gave us. Friday
evening we had hors d’oeuvres and wine.
On Saturday morning we had a delicious breakfast of pouch
omelets. Following
breakfast we had our biannual meeting.
Saturday evening Don Russell brought a fantastic dinner
from Q’s Restaurant in
At the meeting we reelected the entire board.
We discussed the 2010 campouts which are noted in this
newsletter. A member of
the Sandwich Fair Board of Directors presented each of the
attendees with a Sandwich Fair History book.
A great book.
Linda Long reported on the FMCA Bowling Green Convention.
The convention voted to keep the Medex program and to
balance the budget by utilizing some of the monies in savings.
We voted to cancel the 2010 outing at
The October 9-11 campout will be at the Sycamore RV Resort in
Sycamore,
The Christmas Dinner will be held on December 13th at
Venuti’s on
Sunday, after leaving the Sandwich Fair, a camper behind us in
the carnival section burned.
